I just wish life was a movie

Look at us, running around. Always rushed, always late. I guess that’s why they call it the human race. What we crave most in this world is connection. For some people it happens at first sight. It’s when you know you know. It’s fate working its magic. And that’s great for them. They get to live in a pop song. Ride the express train. But that’s not the way it really works. For the rest of us, it’s a bit less romantic. It’s complicated, it’s messy. It’s about horrible timing, and fumbled opportunities. And not being able to say what you need to say when you need to say it. At least, that’s the way it was for me. – The Switch (2010)

If movies had a monarchy, I would be queen of 21st century romantic comedies and chick flicks. I’ve watched countless movies and however predictable or cheesy the storyline, I will watch till the very end. They make me laugh and cry but most of all, make me want to part of them.

Love is a common theme of movies and one which my life has lacked. I know, I’m sixteen, I have my entire life ahead of me, but everyone wants their fairytale Prince Charming.
I’ve had a best friend for just over two years, but a month or so ago, we told each other how we really felt. He makes me feel warm and safe; he makes me smile and gives me that stomach ache you get when you laugh too much and he makes me feel like I can spend every minute of every day with him. We’re connected.

I understand that I’m young, I just wish I can always feel this way about him and have a part of a movie in my life.

Look at us, running around. Always rushed, always late. I guess that’s why they call it the human race. But sometimes, it slows down just enough for all the pieces to fall into place. Fate works it’s magic. And you’re connected.
